Shihan Joni Wilson Sharrah

Shihan Joni Wilson Sharrah is the founder and head instructor of USA Karate. She is 6th Degree Black Belt in Shito-Ryu Karate-Do, certified by the Traditional Karate-do Organization, a certified National Official and certified Technical Coach by the AAU Karate National Program. 
 
She is also certified by the American Council on Exercise in both Group Exercise and for Personal Training.  
 
In 2006, Shihan Joni Sharrah earned an International Budo Martial Arts License an internationally recognized Martial Arts Instructor's License.
 
Joni Sharrah is a former 3 -time AAU National Champion, 6 - time International medalist including 3 World Championship Gold Medals.
 
She was inducted into the Eastern International Black Belt Hall of Fame in 2000.
 
She is committed to personal excellence and sharing the wisdom gained since training in karate-do beginning in 1982.
 
In addition to operating and directing the activities at USA Karate, Joni Sharrah is licensed Real Estate Agent and is associated with Windermere Real Estate Company - Lake Forest Park.

Coach Alan Sharrah

Alan Sharrah began training in Judo at the age of 9. The highlight of his Judo training was being selected to compete at the USA Judo Federation team trials for the United States Olympic Team.
 
Coach Alan is also the co-owner and co-director of USA Karate.  Since 1994, Alan Sharrah has been the head coach of the USA Karate travel team. 
 
Coach Alan is a certified coach by the Amateur Athletic Union and certified by ASEP.  In 2006, Sensei Alan Sharrah completed and received all the necessary requirements to earn an International Budo Martial Arts Instructor's License.
 
Alan Sharrah brings a world of business expertise to USA Karate.  His success as former VP of Operations with Laidlaw Transit, former assistant Plant Manager with the Seattle Times, and current Director of Operations of Frank Lumber the Door Store enables USA Karate to excel not only as a fine Martial Arts Academy but a growing and thriving small business.

Sempai Justin Wilson

Eighteen-year-old Justin Wilson has been a student of Karate since he was 4 years old. Justin graduated to Sandan in the summer of 2006. He competed in his first National Championships in 1995. Since then, he has become a five-time National Champion and a was a former member of the U.S. Junior National Karate Team.
 
In 2006, Justin Wilson earned his Assistant Intructor's International Budo Martial Arts Certification.
 
Justin continues to be an excellent mentor for students of all ages at USA Karate.  He strives for academic excellence and is developing his skills for success in the future. He is attending college full time and working part-time in the community.

Sempai Chris Hoy

Chris Hoy began his training with Sensei Joni and Coach Alan at age 6.
In November 2006, Chris earned his Sandan.
Representing the United States on a goodwill exchange trip to Japan in the spring of 2004, Chris earned a Silver Medal in kata. Chris was selected as the Most Outstanding Jr. Male at the 2005 Region 12 AAU National Qualifier. Sempai Chris earned a Gold Medal in Team Kumite at the 4th Shito-Ryu World Championships in Osaka, Japan in 2005. Chris continues to assist the students of USA Karate whenever he can while he is focusing on his College Education.
